How We Investigate

How does the FBI work a case?

It starts with world-class training provided to our agents, analysts, and other personnel at the FBI’s Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The FBI’s highly trained personnel then use intelligence, science, technology, and other tools to investigate federal crimes and terrorism. In some cases, the FBI turns to special tactics and teams to catch dangerous suspects in high-pressure situations.
